I have a question about suicide.

In our lives, we need to go through certain experiences and committing suicide robs us of that development (causing us to ‘re-live’ them later).

However, I’ve seen people jump from burning buildings or caused themselves (or others) to die when they felt death was imminent.

There was never a guarantee that they would die, but in their judgment at that moment, they felt so.

My question is, does someone damage or hamper their spiritual development by committing suicide when they feel that death is imminent?

If people jump down from a burning house because the fire is touching their backs etc., then this cannot be compared with a ‘common’ suicide.
如果人们因为火焰触及他们的后背等…而从燃烧的房子里跳下来，那这是不能与‘common/普通的’的「Suicide/自杀」相提并论的。
Panic and fear of an imminent and terrible death often lead to some form of mental brainstorm and restrict clear thinking.
对迫在眉睫的可怕死亡的恐慌和恐惧…往往会导致某种形式的‘mental brainstorm/头脑风暴’，并对清晰的思维（逻辑）加以限制。
It’s a different thing altogether if a person is dying from an illness and, in fear of the possible consequences (dementia, pain, etc.), sets an end to his life.

Suicide is NEVER acceptable or justified.
「Suicide/自杀」‘NEVER/从来’都不是可接受…又或正当的选项。
No exception.

Everything depends on a person’s right/correct (= neutral-positive) thinking.

People who are committing suicide are either mentally sick (e.g. heavy depression), are just cowards and are certainly thinking in an erroneous/irrational way.

So i had a discussion with some people close to me and they asked me what are the consequences of committing a suicide to a person concerned because in the next reincarnation it is different personality who the spirit form enlivens and I had no answer to it.

Suicide is an act of cowardice and a lack of appreciation of life.
「Suicide/自杀」是一种懦弱的行为，以及对「Life/生命」缺乏感恩的行为。
If a person commits suicide, he or she stops the learning process, the reason why the human beings exists.
如果一个人选择「Suicide/自杀」，他或她就会停止学习的过程，而这个过程本身…却正是「Human Beings/人类」之所以存在的原因。-[注]
利昂注释：
这里的意思是，「Human Beings/人类」存在于世的本质就在于…从前人和自身的错误中汲取经验和教训，并以此做出改善和改变，从而使自身不断地趋近…那依循于『Creation/造化』的…自然真理和法则，从而在这一世达成自己在物质（世界）生命历程中…所承载的不可推卸的「Evolution/进化」使命和责任。
— —这里要特别注意一点：
有的人会藉此认为…人生于世，就是为了犯错，因为错误的”洗礼“可以帮助人们实现个人的成长，所以，错误越多越好，没有错误也要创造条件制造错误。
这是一种极其偏激且缺乏真实认知的错误观点，这种观点往往会成为那些犯错之人一再犯错的借口又或某种”依据“。

不仅如此，这种包含挑衅性、主动性的犯错行为，并不属于「Human Beings/人类」“正常”的「Evolution/进化」试错，而是一种对既有经验、逻辑和教训的重蹈覆辙，因为从这些“不正常”的错误中，「Human Beings/人类」并不能获取更多有效、有益的知识积累，因此，也就对「Evolution/进化」本身毫无益处，纯粹是在浪费…又或甚至是阻碍个体甚至是群体的「Evolution/进化」提升。
所以，相较于那些基于「Human Beings/人类」不可预知、尚未可知（后果）前提下的错误制造者，主动冲撞可预知、可预判（后果）的错误制造者，才是全「Human Beings/人类」最大的「Evolution/进化」公敌，因为这些人毫无疑问是在阻碍自身和全「Human Beings/人类」的「Evolution/进化」发展，其所作所为不会为任何人包括他/她自己带来任何「Evolution/进化」层面的益处，可谓：损人害己！
What has not been learned in one’s lifetime, because it was shortened through a despicable act of killing oneself, must so be learned in a next life.
因为这一生的学习过程会被一种可鄙的‘killing oneself/自尽’行为缩短，所以，一个人在这一世没有学到的东西，就必须在下一世补上。
You can compare this with a person who has stopped going to school after the 3rd grade.
你可以把这种情况比作一个…上到三年级就不再上学了…的人。
Such a person is missing much what could have been learned in his or her life.
这样的一个人，会错过很多…在他或她这一世的「Life/生命」中…原本可以学到的东西。
Actually, the longer a person lives, the greater the potential to learn and to acquire benefits for one’s evolution.
